Why Mimbiosis?
Small team. Outsized impact.
We're at an early and exciting stage — which means the work you do here will directly shape the company, the product, and the culture. There's no bureaucracy, no middle layers, no waiting for permission to try things.
We work at the intersection of biotechnology, circular design, and industry transformation. The problems we're solving are real, urgent, and largely unsolved — and we're building the team that will solve them.
Based in Munich and embedded in the TUM Venture Labs ecosystem, with access to world-class research infrastructure, advisors, and a global network of impact-focused partners.
Early team members shape the direction of the company. Your ideas have a direct path from conversation to production.
We're not building software features. We're growing physical materials that end up in real spaces — you can see, touch, and show people what you built.
Circular economy isn't a marketing line here — it's the entire business model. Every role contributes directly to reducing textile waste at scale.
TUM research infrastructure, EXIST funding and EU programme networks — plus a global advisor bench across biotech, architecture, and fashion.
Open Positions
We're looking for builders.
We're looking for a researcher with hands-on experience in fungal biology, biomaterials, or composite material science to join our core R&D team. You'll work directly on process optimisation, new substrate development, and performance testing of mycelium-bound panels.
You bring:- Background in biology, materials science, or related field (MSc or PhD)
- Experience with fungal cultivation or biomaterial processing
- Comfort working in an early-stage lab environment
- Curiosity about sustainability, circular materials, and industrial application
We need someone to build and own our commercial relationships — with fashion brands looking to manage textile waste, and with architects and designers specifying our panels. You'll be the bridge between our technology and the market.
You bring:- Experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or commercial development
- Understanding of the fashion, textile, or construction industry (any one of the three)
- Ability to communicate complex technology simply and compellingly
- Drive to build pipelines from scratch — this is not an account management role
Mimbiosis has a story that's genuinely worth telling — grown material, circular loops, fashion waste turned into architecture. We need someone who can find that story in everything we do and translate it across channels, formats, and audiences.
You bring:- Strong writing and visual communication skills
- Experience building brand presence from an early stage
- Sensitivity to design, sustainability, and material culture
- Ability to work across social, editorial, events, and partnerships
Don't see a role that fits exactly? We're always interested in exceptional people. If you're passionate about biomaterials, circular economy, or the future of the built environment — and you think you have something to contribute — send us a note. Tell us who you are and what you'd want to work on.
Students & Researchers
Internships & thesis projects.
We work closely with students and researchers — particularly from TUM, LMU, and design schools. If you're working on a thesis or research project in biomaterials, circular design, sustainable architecture, or related fields, we'd be glad to explore a collaboration.
Internship and thesis positions are defined around the project and the person — not a fixed job description. Reach out with what you're working on.
Fungal cultivation, composite testing, process development
Panel aesthetics, texture development, application research
LCA, EPR compliance, ESG documentation frameworks
Market development, go-to-market, partner research
